Keith Martin

Mr. Martin attained his undergraduate degree at the University of Kansas and subsequently earned a Masters of Business Administration Degree from Harvard University. Keith returned to the University of Kansas for his law degree, and he has continually practiced in the Kansas City area.

Throughout his career he has served on a variety of governmental bodies including fourteen years as the City Attorney for Mission, Kansas, seven years on the Kansas Board of Tax Appeals, and five years on the Water Resources Board of Kansas.

Mr. Martin has extensive trial skills including participation as lead counsel in literally hundreds of court and jury trials throughout his career. He has practiced in various courts on both sides of the state line including appellate courts in Kansas and Missouri, the Eighth and Tenth Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal. Keith's history even includes his own case coming before the United States Supreme Court regarding his right to practice simultaneously in Kansas and Missouri.

Mr. Martin is one of several principals of Payne & Jones, Chartered who have attained the prestigious "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell, a service which evaluates attorneys nationwide. Keith has consistently maintained an active presence in the Johnson County, Kansas, and American Bar Associations. His service includes serving on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Tenth Judicial District of Kansas and is currently a NASD arbitrator of securities cases as well as a federal mediator.
