Keith Martin
Background
Keith Martin is a senior principal attorney with the firm. He has been actively practicing in the area since 1947. Keith’s practice emphasizes civil litigation with a particularly strong background in insurance-related litigation, and litigation arising from estate and probate matters.
Keith attained his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Kansas, and his MBA from Harvard University.
Throughout his career Keith has served on a variety of governmental bodies, including fourteen years as the City Attorney for Mission, Kansas, seven years on the Kansas Board of Tax Appeals, and five years on the Water Resources Board of Kansas.
Keith has extensive trial skills including participation as lead counsel in literally hundreds of court and jury trials throughout his career. He has practiced in various courts on both sides of the state line, including appellate courts in Kansas and Missouri, the Eighth and Tenth Federal Circuit Courts of Appeal. Keith’s history also includes his own case coming before the United States Supreme Court regarding his right to practice simultaneously in Kansas and Missouri.
Martindale-Hubbell, a service that evaluates attorneys nationwide, has given Keith its highest rating, the prestigious “AV” rating. Keith has maintained an active presence in the Johnson County, Kansas, and American Bar Associations, and his service includes serving on the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Tenth Judicial District of Kansas. Keith is currently a FINRA arbitrator of securities cases.
